For me only one thing could be more exciting than winning a Lottery jackpot. And that is finding out that someone else has won a lotto jackpot with my lottery systems!!

On Tuesday, June 20, 1990 Ralph and Nancy Crapse, won a first prize jackpot in Florida's Fantasy 5 Lotto game. They had wheeled 22 numbers in 100 combinations using the lottery wheeling system 3014 from my book, Lotto Wheel Five to Win.

The Crapses were one of seven winners sharing the $1,708,800 Florida Fantasy 5 lotto jackpot. Each of the seven winners collected $244,114.34 (before taxes). Only 72 hours after buying my book, at a seminar in Tampa, Florida, the Crapses hit the Fantasy 5 lotto jackpot.

Nancy Crapse watched the drawing on television. She checked her numbers and found all five winning numbers on the 58th line of System 3014. Ralph was sleeping soundly. So soundly, in fact, that, "I had to call him three times."

She called out to sleepy Ralph. "I think you ought to know about something!"

"I wanted some one else to look at them," she explained -- meaning she couldn't believe her eyes and needed confirmation that their tickets really had the winning numbers. (This is the typical reaction of first prize lottery winners. They always think their eyes are playing tricks on them and can't quite believe their good fortune.)

After winning the dream Fantasy 5 jackpot, Nancy couldn't sleep all night. But Ralph slipped back into his own dreamland. The realization that they had actually won did not dawn on Ralph until after they collected the check two days later.

"Until then," Ralph said, "I had a sense of numbness, as if I were in limbo. I had a sense of knowing the numbers were there but disbelief. This is not really happening. I'm going to wake up."

The Crapses went to Tallahassee to collect their windfall. "If you are there by 8 a.m., you get your check from the lottery by 4:30 p.m. the same day," Ralph explained. After checking in with the lottery in the morning, they spent the day in Tallahassee shopping for little gifts and things. Both felt a sense of unease. "What if there is some glitch, what if something is wrong with the ticket? You know they run a computer check on big winners -- to see if they owe child support, or are on the wanted list," they laughed and joked, "Remember that parking ticket you had 30 years ago???"

"I got a rush when I got the check!" Ralph described the exhilaration he felt, and also the sense of achievement. The Crapses thought they could keep the win quiet, but when they returned home everybody knew they had won. "We stopped by L 'n W Mini Mart, the store where we had bought our tickets, and everybody grabbed us. My banker was shaking my hand."

"I felt like it was an act of Providence -- Divine Intervention," Ralph declared. "I called my pastor and told him 'We won that lottery.' He said, 'Thank the Lord!' I said, 'Now I'm going to give you ten percent.' I gave 10% to the church off the top."

"It came at a real low point in my life. That Tuesday morning, I had asked a friend if I could borrow $10,000. It felt good to tell him I didn't need it, but I added that I sure appreciated that he was going to help me out," he said, gratefully.

Ralph and Nancy run a heavy equipment business along with their two sons. The business specializes in agricultural work. "It has been a terrible year," said Ralph. "Our machinery has been sitting for two or three months. The late freeze really hurt. Then the farmers haven't had a good year and they are putting off any work they can. I have felt like I was punch drunk."

"Now I want to learn how to do this (win the jackpot) on a regular basis. This first one got us even with the world. Now I want to win one for me! I've got my eye on a 195 Cessna." Ralph already has two vintage planes and one antique car. "You know the only difference between a man and a boy is the price of his toys," Ralph quipped.

Ralph Crapse has this advice for people who want to win Lotto jackpots: "You can't pick it up if you don't lay it down," which is a variation of "You gotta be in it to win it."

"People who just play random numbers and don't use a wheel are wasting their money," Ralph says. "It's so foolish, it's unbelievable."

On January 31, 1995, Gerald Galanowsky and his Lotto pooling group, "The Magnificent Seven," became my first jackpot winners in 1995 when they won a $99,350.00 jackpot in New Jersey's Cash 5. In his letter, Gerald tells how they chose their winning numbers and wheeled them, using my computer software. Gerald wrote,

Bob Ebert and his wife, Jane, were barreling down the highway, driving daughter, Laura, back home to Austin, Texas, when Laura's cell phone rang. It was his brother, Eldon, calling with the good news that they had just won the Illinois Little Lotto jackpot.

"He and our daughter, Amy, had been trying to reach us for fifteen hours to let us know, but we had been out of cell phone coverage area while driving through New Mexico and east Texas.

"We were so excited, we pulled the car over to the side of the road and hollered and shouted. Eldon asked us to guess how much we had won.

"Usually, there are two winners and the payout is about $33,000. But this time, there was no other winner. We won the entire $73,338. When we got back into the car and continued driving, we laughed all the way to Austin. What a happy ride!"

"Eldon and I played Lotto as partners, so we split the winnings. With our half, Jane and I paid bills, bought some furniture, and gave our kids, Laura and Amy, some money. After we paid off the two credit cards, I cut them up. Paying off those credit cards was a real relief. It took the stress off of us. We had just lost our family business the previous year and winning the lottery was a godsend to us."

In his letter, Bob Ebert wrote:

Bob Ebert told me on the phone, "For four draws in a row, we won a second prize and on the fifth draw, we won the jackpot plus three second prizes and a third prize. Everyone told us we were very lucky. We said, 'We weren't lucky, we just had a good system!'"

On March 12, 2004, J.B. of Glencoe, Illinois, hit the jackpot for $124,013 in the new 5/39 Illinois Little Lotto. Following our phone conversation, J.B. (who asked that her name be withheld), sent me a copy of her check and winning ticket as documented proof of her win, and also this letter:

On the phone, J.B. confided that she had done "massive searches" on the internet looking for a lottery system to help her become a smarter lottery player.

"I worked hard and read many other peoples systems and strategies via the internet, but I didn't feel comfortable with them. On most of the sites selling lottery systems, I did not get past the first paragraph before feeling as though it was a sales pitch or a scam.

I was on such a high after I won, I felt on top of the world. Winning the lottery advanced me to take my next step in my life. It gave me the confidence to feel like a winner.

"Now, when I feel down, I think of what made me feel so good that day and remember how it felt to be a winner. And I tell myself that I can have that same feeling again anytime I want. Just believe in yourself and your choices and for me I realized my gut instincts (looking back throughout my life) are most often correct. It changed my life where I now feel like a winner. I found that I could put that feeling into play for anything else in life. When you believe you are a winner, you ARE a winner."

J.B. caught the essence of being a winner. In her case, it was the actual winning of a first prize jackpot that awakened her inner-winner potential.
