A winning number is a lotto number that is in the set of numbers officially drawn for a lotto game is a winning number for that drawing. For example, the winning Florida Lotto drawing for January 2, 2008 is 07-16-27-39-47-53. Number 7 (as well as all of the other 5 lotto numbers in the drawing) is an example of a winning number for that drawing. Numbers that were not in the drawing, are losing numbers.
